New York Times go to hell
by Diana Arce
I feel like the more and more I read to NYT online, the more it starts to read like a copy of People Magazine, Gawker or the Right Wing Review. The last few weeks have included covers of Why Americans Don’t Marry, The New Speaker of House’s fashion sense, Angelina Jolie’s cold stare, and President Chavez’s national policies being compared to… well here is the quote:
“Like Mr. Chávez, Mr. Pérez Jiménez undertook grandiose projects like the Humboldt Hotel, whose eerie shell sits atop the Ávila mountain above Caracas.”
I don’t think nationalizing Oil and other markets to pull Venezuela out of South American poverty can really be compared for building a defunct Hotel in the middle of nowhere, but maybe that’s just me.
And the new reports on Bush forget to point out that what he is saying and doing are two completely different things. But it’s the headlines that get me. Bush is starting to sound like a good will crusader.
Bush Insists U.S. Must Not Fail in Iraq President Offers Plans on Energy and Health Care Bush Seeks Vast Increase in Alternative Fuels Bush Revives Some Past Proposals and Offers a New Initiative on Health Insurance
Like what? No Health Insurance? Bush and his administration have been blowing hot air for years and the hardest the NYT is getting on him is burying in a article:
It was the second year in a row that Mr. Bush made “energy security” a focal point of his State of the Union address, but his proposals on Tuesday were modest, and perhaps less achievable, than those he made a year ago when he said the nation was “addicted to oil.”
Air quotes. All I got was the irony of air quotes! Here they are again.
Mr. Bush also laced his proposals with numerous “safety valves” that could delay attainment of his goals.
So go to Hell, New York Times. And take MacDonalds with you.
Those blowhards bought a beautiful building around the corner from my house and will hopefully sell it or unfortunately make it a parking lot and turn it into a MacDonalds. Is nothing sacred anymore?
